John Ryan

Chief Executive Officer

John has enjoyed a diversified career that includes International experience as Corporate Director, Senior manager, Public Servant and Entrepreneur. As a public servant, John has had the privilege of serving Canada as Senior Immigration Officer, Customs Inspector and a Commissioned Officer in the Armed Forces. John was part of the Minister of Citizenship and Immigrations Advisory Committee on the Regulation of Immigration Consultants. He went on to serve as the Chair, Vice Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants, the Canadian Regulatory Authority of Immigration Consultants. At Global Nexus Education Inc. John serves as the President of the Board and Chief Executive Officer

Patrick Brennan

Director, Strategic Partnerships

Mr. Patrick Brennan is currently serving as a Special Advisor to the President of Vancouver Island University and is the Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Professional Training Centre, where he applies decades of leadership experience in diplomacy, program and policy development, mentorship and Indigenous affairs. From 2014 to 2018, he served as the Executive Director for McGill University's Institute for the Study of International Development, where he ran executive training programs, built strategic partnerships with keyinstitutions including government departments, UN Agencies, the World Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank, and supported the Institute's research programmes in collaboration with leading global think tanks, universities, foundations, NGO’s and the private sector. Prior to working at McGill, Mr. Brennan spent 20 years working with the Government of Canada and the United Nations.

Yin-Jen Chen

Executive Assistant

Jen Chen is an Executive Assistant at Global Nexus. Jen has worked at CSIC e-Academy and Institute of Global Specialists as an Admissions and Registration Representative in the past four years to process applications and help promote online education in various fields, such as immigration, education, and many others, that has led hundreds of students to succeed in building their future career paths. Before CSIC e-Academy, Jen spent two years studying for her Master of Arts and worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Victoria. During this time, she developed her passion for supporting students to accomplish their academic goals. Moreover, having lived, studied, worked and gone through the immigration process in Canada, Jen personally understands the importance and challenges of international education.

Peter Zhang

Chief Technical Officer

Mr. Zhang graduated with a master’s degree of Computer Science from University of Utah. His background in computer science, software development, computer graphics, and human computer interaction will allow him to direct the software development and user experience design at Global Nexus. His undergraduate and graduate education in computer science has allowed him to understand and experience most of the software development stack. His experience in the software development industry has allowed him to work closely with design teams and communicate across multiple discipline to implement software features, and participate in project management.

Sean Ryan

Junior Front-End Developer

Sean Ryan is a second-year student at the University of Toronto pursuing a degree in computer science. With years of experience in software development and website design, Sean helps maintain the top quality of the Global Nexus website. Eager and innovative, Sean is constantly coming up with new ideas to improve the global nexus experience for students, parents, and agents by putting their needs first.

Eamon Ryan

Junior Front-End Developer

Eamon, passionate for technology, has been pursuing ventures in the digital industry ever since early high-school. His passion led him to working numerous positions at educational institutions, working in varying fields from media and marketing to web development and design. In 2019, he founded a Non-Profit known as ‘Climaware’ that focuses on centralizing digital climate information, and in 2022 he founded his first corporation ‘Matrix Studios’ that operates as a web, app, and media contracting business. In his free time, Eamon is passionate about theater and performs musicals and plays on his local stage. Eamon is also an award winning filmmaker, winning numerous awards for his video projects posted on YouTube. He currently works at Global Nexus as a Junior Front End Developer, and aims to continue his pursuit in the tech industry in Toronto for post-secondary studies.

Dylan Gauvin

Junior Front-End Developer

Dylan Gauvin is a senior at Brentwood College School and is working towards a career in computer science. Having worked on numerous websites, Dylan is able to update and maintain the Global Nexus website to a high degree. In his spare time, Dylan has worked alongside Eamon to create a web, app, and media contracting business called 'Matrix Studios'.

Xiaodong Wu

Media and Marketing Director

Mr. Wu has 20 years’ experience in and related to the media field. He has worked as the director managing brand-name large scale culture/entertainment complex for more than 5 years. Projects he managed include China’s entertainment district---Shanghai Dream Center and Lego Theme park, etc. While he was in charge of these projects, he gained valuable experience in IP negotiations and project management from world’s leading brand names and he met with culture leaders from all over the world including culture leaders from Montreal and Victoria, Canada.

Yang Song

Global Business Director

Ms. Song has more than 20 years’ experience in educational field both as a teacher and as a senior manager of education business. She graduated with a master’s degree of Business Administration. She has been a Founder and Principal at Sunny Rainbow Education School since 2000, and Associate Professor at Shenyang Institute of Engineering since 1996. Her background in both education field and business administration will greatly help the business development of Global Nexus.

Liang Cheng

Legal Director

Mr. Cheng have more than 20 years’ experience as a lawyer. He has been a senior partner in civil and commercial law at Chongqing Kangshi Law Firm from 2002 to present. He graduated from Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL) China with a bachelor’s degree of law and On-the-job postgraduate degree in civil and commercial law. His education and work experience will greatly contribute to the theme and content development of Global Nexus’s signature competitions “the Negotiator” and its online workshop and certification programs. His background and experience in Law will greatly help Global Nexus to protect its trademark, intangible assets and copyrights of its digital medias and educational contents while expanding franchise networks globally.

Shawn Xiao

Business Development

After graduating from Gustavson Business School of the University of Victoria, Shawn has devoted himself to the education industry for more than two years and has a unique insight into the international industry. His successful experience in communicating with hundreds of students and parents has always made him believe in the endless value of education for personal development, and is committed to bringing the most reasonable solutions to each client.
